Movie News!

This is probably old news but more importantly it is sad news for me personally!

One of my favorite Canadian directors Neil Labute (who follows in the esteemed footsteps of other great original film makers David Lynch, Guy Maddin and David Cronenberg) has crossed over to the dark side and is currently on post-production of a remake of the 1973 highly original British horror picture "The Wickerman"

I'm so upset that a director/film-maker of Labute's caliber has chosen to do this that it has forced me to never buy or see another one of his motion pictures!

1) Why do a re-make in the first place when you carved your niche as an original, thought provoking and challenging artist?

2) Why re-make a classic? I guess the next stop is a studio re-working of "The Omen!"

3) Lastly, why, why cast Nic Cage in the lead originally played by Edward Woodward when there are a heap of other actors with something called talent and a class above Cage who only probably got the job to pull the weekend teenage popcorn crowds in!?

I rest my case on the last question?!

If anyone goes to see this picture please email your opinion?
