Stanley C. Legg

Stan Legg (British Royal Navy Rtd.) a veteran of World War II, a loving husband, a father and an Englishman to the hilt of his sword passed away in peace on Saturday January 8th 2006.

Stan was the father of David Legge.

It was Legge that taught me the ropes of photo-journalism back in the late 80's in our fair town of Bedford, England.

For that I will always be grateful.

But it was Stanley that really formed the man and the photographer Legge was to become!

It was his experiences as a young Naval Officer during and throughout the long years of World War II that will make tales for years to come that will keep children and adults alike entertained. Stories of bravery and risk that schoolboys dream off, espionage, drama on the high seas, combat, survival and coming home a hero!

I had the pleasure of meeting Stanley C. Legg many times and each time was like listening to my Grandfather leafing through history with humility, charm and a sense of pride that could never be taken from a man of that stature.

My thoughts and wishes go his wife Peggy and Legge.

He will be missed and I thank you.
